OUR JOURNEY
1982
The Beginning
Born and raised in Medan, our founder spent his childhood there before his family relocated to Surabaya. He later pursued a degree in Civil Engineering, where his passion for construction took shape.
During his final years at university, he spent two years as an intern on an international construction project in Kupang, gaining invaluable hands-on experience. After graduation, he continued his career with an established construction company, building the knowledge and practical expertise that would later become the foundation of the company.
1990
Company Founded & First Industrial Project
Driven by a vision to build with integrity, quality, and trust, this company was officially established in Surabaya under the name PT. Metraya Pratama.
Operating from its first first office on Jalan Gatotan with a team of five employees, the company completed its first industrial project, marking the beginning of its journey in industrial construction.
1997
Growing Together
As long-term relationships with clients continued to grow, so did the company. The team expanded to around twenty employees, and the office relocated to Villa Bukit Mas to support increasing project demands and a growing portfolio across Indonesia.
2006
A New Identity
The company relocated its headquarters to Araya and officially adopted the name, PT. Medex Prima.
The name “Medex”, derived from “Medan Express” reflects the founder’s roots in Medan and the company’s commitment to providing responsive, practical construction solutions without compromising quality. Introduced during a period when the founders’s younger brother joined the business, the new identity marked a fresh chapter in the company’s evolution.
As the company continued to grow, it expanded its capabilities and earned the trust of larger industrial and commercial clients across Indonesia.
2014
Preparing the Next Generation
The founder’s successor joined the company and began his journey from the ground up.
Rather than entering directly into a leadership role, he worked across various operational positions to understand every stage of the business, gaining firsthand experience in the challenges, responsibilities, and values that define the company.
2021
Transformation
As the successor assumed the role of Commissioner, the company entered a new phase of transformation. While preserving the values established by the founder, he introduced initiatives to strengthen the company’s long-term competitiveness, including a renewed corporate identity, stronger brand positioning, digital presence, organizational systems, and management practices.
These efforts were brought together under a renewed spirit embodied in the company’s tagline: Building Future.
